What Is the Mind Component?

More Than a Great Summer.

My Summer Challenge runs on two pillars: Motion and Mind. Motion is the engine — 300+ activities, points, badges, and friendly competition that keep kids active and engaged all summer long. Most kids will be drawn in by Motion first, and that's exactly how it's designed.

But Mind is what makes MSC different from every other summer activity program out there.

Each week, your kid gets a short personal development reading — about 350 words, written directly to them in a voice that respects their intelligence without talking over their heads. No lectures. No preachiness. Just honest, engaging writing about things that actually matter to a 10–15 year old.

Then, Monday through Friday, one journal prompt arrives — a question worth actually thinking about. By the end of the week, they've done something rare: they've spent a summer thinking about who they are, where they're going, and how they want to show up in the world. And they did it while also having an amazing summer.
